July Part 1

July 1 we all gathered together to celebrate Cassie's baptism. We got a picture with all the grandkids and Grandma. We stayed one last night at Aunt Shannon's house before taking off the next morning. We were all pretty tired at this point.
The good news is we had Rebekah and Sarah coming to visit with us, the bad news is that about 2 hours into the drive back the air conditioning on the van broke completely! Not even a fan would work.
We stopped at a walmart to buy some fans, but they didn't help a whole lot and driving through the desert in July was HOT! We rolled the windows down most of the trip and made music videos about being hot while driving to entertain us and keep us from suffocating.
The heat will put you to sleep.
Boy were we glad when we saw this sign!
We hung out and rested the first day back and for the 4th we headed up to Pinkston's for some fun!

Stop Mom, I'm going to play in this water and you can't stop me!

Uncle Rick did a fireworks show we won't soon forget!
They launched so high in the sky and were so fun!
We roasted marshmellows and had a blast!

Jacob was a good sport and played lots of spoons and mafia with us.
We went floating down the river for the first time ever and it was AMAZING! I didn't get a single picture, but it soon became a tradition we will do every summer!
Uncle Rick and Aunt Juli took us out to eat yummy food and poor Connor fell asleep on Jacob. Jacob is the best cousin a kid could have. He is so kind to the kids and he has let Kael become his shadow.
We are so lucky to have them in our lives.
I love taking car sleeping photos because it shows just how much fun we had. The river was amazing. We all were able to float for about an hour and then they had rapids that I almost lost the kids on. I wasn't really thinking and just sent them down. They did ok the first time, but the second time Kael's tube flipped. It was pretty traumatic for the kid. Me and Rick were standing on the shore just waiting for the right moment to jump in and save him, and some kind Hispanics helped him get to shore. It didn't bother Eden because she didn't flip so she kept going and while our backs were turned she got dumped in with just floaties on and she said a dog helped to save her.
Needless to say it was a trip we won't soon forget.
We needed a rest day the next day and had a movie day.
The next day we went bowling with friends.

The NEXT day Shannon arrived!!!
After a day hanging out we got inventive and did a slip in slide and water balloons.

The next day we let Sarah and Rebekah come up with an obstacle course for everyone and split into two teams. It was at least an hour of fun!
Dwayne soon arrived and flew in from work and July 13th we went to Corpus Christi to have a beach day!
We tested out my new timer remote clicker for my phone's camera.
Yes it worked.

Always a good trip when EVERYONE falls asleep on the drive home. Usually means someone got sunburned too.
The Days left the next morning and we were back to our adventures waiting on Derek to get home from Houston.
He was in Houston all of May and July.
Then, Kael got a much needed hair cut.
