November 2019

Kael has been home schooled for 6th grade, and I think we both are enjoying it. Kael is a little bored at times, and lonely not having friends around all day like at school with only Mom for company, but the dogs have been keeping him company.
Eden had a make up soccer game the first weekend in November to finish soccer. She played her heart out and had a couple attempts at a goal and came SO close. She really learned to hustle and work hard, and I'm really proud of all 4 kids for working hard to become better athletes.

Connor got a new lunch box, and is LOVING going to school and riding a bus and being a big kid. Connor just loves being a kid and having fun. It's official I don't have any babies in my house anymore and Connor reminds me every time I try to call him my baby.
The entire 4th grade sang for a Veteran's Day performance and Eden was very excited to sing for her Dad. She is wearing red, on the left second row from the bottom. When your school is on a military base that means every single family has a parent in the armed forces. It was such a neat experience. The music teacher had the kids learn several patriotic songs as well as each branch of the military song. When it was their parents branch of service they had them stand and sing along. It was really incredible and very patriotic. Honestly seeing these amazing kids and how much they sacrifice moving all the time, having parents deployed, these kids are AMAZING.
I'm so proud of Eden and I love that my kids can be apart of something this neat.

On Nov. 8th we took a trip to Corpus Christi with a bunch of Pinkston cousins. Andrew and Morgan, Blake and Ashley, and Jamie and Heidi were all able to come and hang out. We went to the beach and swam at the pool at the Embassy Suites, played games and ate delicious food.
 We do hotels in "style".
Or maybe we are just silly....
Breakfast!
 The Beach
Heidi, Jamie, Morgan, Andrew, Ashley, Blake, Derek, and Sharice
We are REALLY REALLY going to miss these people as life goes on. Blake is applying for med school. We just feel lucky to have Heidi living with us for a while longer until May 2020.
Going to the beach never gets old for us. We love it so much.
The waves were PERFECT for boogie boarding.
It was a little chilly with the wind, but overall the best waves we have had at Corpus so far!

Sure love my beach going family!

With Derek home this year we just felt like we needed extra long to celebrate the holidays since he was gone last year. So, we decorated super early around November 14th. It is amazing how much you can get done with 2 adults working on stuff! Just about everything was done in just one day rather than a whole week! It also helped not having everyone sick this year!
Inside and Outside.
We got these pogo passes that let you have cheaper admission to all kinds of activities in the city. We got Splashtown, the zoo, the aquarium, jump places.
On Nov. 16th we took the kids to The Rush Fun Park and it was so much fun!
We took so many pictures because it was just fun to play with the kids and enjoy that time and plain be silly for a while.

Derek won every time in jousting.

Derek's Mom came for a visit Nov 11-Nov 27th. We had a blast and love it when Grammy can come.
Our first stop with Grammy was the San Antonio Zoo!
We also got a fun visit with the Pinkston's, and went to see Frozen 2 at the movies!
The last night we were able to go to see the San Antonio Rampage Hockey team! We fell in love with hockey! It was really fun to watch.

The kids got a picture with T-Bone the Mascot.
Before the game we were asked if we wanted to participate in a competition during a period break. We of course accepted. We had to push Eden on a bed on the ice and then she had to run and grab a hockey stick and score a goal before another team.
We won.
Of course.

Proud Dad moment for his little girl.

Before our race, and after. We were really hyped up and lost our voices by the end of the night.
For Thanksgiving we spent the day with family at the Pinkston's. We were able to shoot some guns. I made about 6 pies, mud pie, pineapple pie, pumpkin, cherry, berry, and pecan!

I made some cute little cornucopias for table decorations.
We feel so blessed to have so many wonderful family members so close. Having family is so rich, and so wonderful. Being loved no matter where you are in life, and just being able to be together brings so much joy in our lives.
This year we truly are grateful for our family!
Eden braved getting her loose canine pulled out. So Derek got some hemostats and pulled. It wasn't quite ready to come out... The root grew sideways or something weird and it was pretty awful. She was a trooper though and at least the tooth is out right? I'm not loving our teeth horror stories and can totally just wait for teeth to fall out on their own from here on out.
Family pictures were taken on November 30th.
