February started out with the Pinewood Derby! Derek helped Kael make his car in January knowing he would have to work the day of the derby. It was SO MUCH FUN!
Kael helped design his car and paint it. He called it "The Reaper". He definitely improved so much from the last time we did it two years ago. We learned a LOT and next year we will be ready!
It has been such a great experience seeing Kael grow as a scout. He has learned so many wonderful life lessons and enjoys being with the other boys.
Valentines Day did not disappoint. The kids got TONS of candy at school and even a Valentine from Mom and Dad. We even made some treats.
With Valentines Day comes Derek's Birthday. He always spoils all of us on his birthday. It's alright I make sure he buys himself something nice for his birthday. :) And make something nice like Texas Sheetcake.
Derek found this amazing Harry Potter poster for our work out room, so he got it for his birthday.
We celebrate most fun things by seeing Pinkston's. It's our favorite so we can't help, but want to be with them for our special occasions. We tried out a new Sea Food restaurant and got crawfish broil. Julie doesn't love sea food, BUT she tried it and it was awesome!
The kids have gotten use to taking naps in the car randomly, whether its for piano lessons or the drive to Pinkston's.
We also got to visit Derek at work and have lunch with him. He took the kids up to the OR's and let them walk around and see an OR. It was a really neat experience and the kids seemed to really enjoy seeing the place Daddy works. We are so grateful for our Daddy Doctor as Connor calls him.
February also brought girls camp prep. With a month away I got hard to work. I changed out all the crayon covers to go with the young women values. They turned out AMAZING! I also made a picachoo pinata for the girls bithdays that were celebrated up there. We had an activity at my house one night to prep all the rest of the skit and decorations and while cooking dinner before I scorched myself on the grill. I left the cover down and the starter was having trouble so I lit it and it exploded in my face... I singed my hair pretty good and burned my hand. Thankfully not too bad. It looked worse than it was but it did hurt and I have a lot of sympathy for burn patients now!
The mountain of laundry that is never ending. I'd like to remember someday just how much I had to get through for the day when all of the kids are living on their own and all I have is my own and Derek's to worry about...
The kids had a play date with friends and Eden learned how to climb the tree in the back yard.
Connor became a fisherman and loves playing with his fishing pole.
I took the dogs to get vaccines and poor Odin had a bad allergic reaction to one. His whole face was completely swollen and he was itching it. I had to run him back for a benedryl shot. Freya looks cute.
The kids advanced belts in karate this month. Kael went from red to red with brown stripe and Eden went from yellow to green.
I found an old photo of Kael's expander and saw how much was already expanded.
