Derek started OB/Gyn in November and was back to crazy shifts and insane hours. He started on a Monday worked crazy hours every day, so my Dad came to rescue the kids and I from being alone and missing Derek. We missed Derek like crazy, but at least we weren't alone. We stayed in Hurricane from Thursday to Monday. My Dad even helped to fix our car on Thursday! What a relief and money saver. And yes siblings, he did in fact "FIX" my car. Replaced the spark plugs and wires. It's been running great ever since! Wahoo! We got to visit and be taken care of. I even got a girls night with my Mom and SIL Jill and her friend. It was such a great way to be distracted from missing Derek. He ended up working a 28 hour shift on Saturday. He started at 5 am at the hospital which meant he left at 4:30am and didn't get home until about 9 am on Sunday morning. Then he was able to sleep Sunday so he could leave at 4:30 on Monday. He has been a great trooper and was even able to get a doctor to offer to do a letter of recommendation! Wahoo! This was great news! Now we just need to get through 3 weeks of OB since he finished the gyn part and then on to Christmas break. Thanks Mom and Dad for the rescue and it was a lots of fun!
