Bass Pro shop is becoming a more frequent stop for us. After ice fishing in Fairbanks, Derek realized he could get a really nice ice fishing set up for probably cheaper than what we paid for a one time fishing trip. So, we are slowly learning all the different fish Alaska has to offer, and are loving fishing.
We got an aerogarden for school to grow plants, and we fell in love with it.
We were able to take the kids sledding to meet as a home school group. Sledding is always more fun with friends.
The kids have gotten quite crafty. Elara made a chicken out of felt and thread. Kael got a wood burner kit and has been practicing drawing with it, and the girls are doing ceramic painting.
We celebrated Derek's birthday a couple days early.

Ashley, Derek's radiology tech crocheted him a baby Grogu for his birthday because she heard he liked Star Wars, and it was one of the most thoughtful gifts I have seen. His clinic spoiled him rotten. And we spoiled ourselves rotten as well with ice fishing gear for his birthday.
So, the very next day we decided to put his new gear into use and go ice fishing. We loved that experience so much we went again 2 days later! Combined photos from the two trips.
So many fish were caught! It was so much fun. Then we filleted the fish, cooked them up, and ate the whole lot of them! So yummy!
The kids got Valentines from Grandparents and had a fabulous day!
At the end of the month Kael, Eden and I went to clean the church building and left Connor and Elara home with Derek and we experienced our first BIG earthquake. It was about 5.5 and shook for a good 20 seconds. Derek said cups full of water fell off the table, and he and the kids had to get under the kitchen table and were crying. The church building shook really good too and we just kind of stood there looking stupid, but the bishop and others who were in the big 7.0 earthquake 2 years early all jumped under tables and were in a panic. Now we know to have a little more urgency. Derek's desk broke, and books fell off the shelves, and plants, but all is well. Thankfully we secured the furniture pretty well when we first moved in for this very reason.
On the 16th of February I stuck my hand in a food processor and it turned on... Thankfully it was only a couple of stitches, but it was a painful recovery. My first trauma injury and I'm good to not do that again. Eden's face says it all.
With February being so short, it seems to pass by so quickly.
