June 2018

June was busy and fun. That pretty much sums up our lives though. Derek had an easier rotation of pain this month with several call shifts for anesthesia. Derek graduated from residency on June 7th. Sharice turned 33 this month and we had lots of family visit for Derek's graduation.

The best way to kick off summer though and the last bit of Dad being gone is at the swimming pool.

Lego towers are the best.

Dad brought the kids gifts home from Panama. The 3 littles got hats and the girls got animal wallets.
Kael got a Panama soccer ball. Then we went to dinner where the children became walruses.
Lots of snuggling on the couch followed to make up for missed time.

Grandma and Grammy and Mark all were able to come for Derek's graduation.
Rob and Julie and Heidi came as well.
It was a fun event of a LOT of graduates.
We were enlightened by the Air Force song, which was hilarious.

Off we go into the wild blue yonder,
Climbing high into the sun
Here they come zooming to meet our thunder
At 'em boys, Give 'er the gun!
Down we dive, spouting our flame from under
Off with one helluva roar!
We live in fame or go down in flame. Hey!
Nothing can stop the U.S. Air Force!

Derek knew the song, but it was a first for those of us not in the military.
It has a very catchy tune and if you have never heard it, it was awesome to hear all of the Air Force singing. Out of all the branches the Air Force song was definitely the best and most sung with heart.

Walking back to the car to go grab the kids and yummy food.
Derek and his sweet Mom.

We are so proud of Julie and all of her hard work. :)
I think this might mean the Pinkston's claim the entire U.S. Air Force now.
Me and my sweet hubby. I'm so lucky to have Derek in my life. He works so hard for us every single day. I'm proud of the man he is and I'm so grateful I get to be by his side through life.
We went to dinner with the Pinkston's at "The Salt Lick".
I'm pretty sure it is our favorite restaurant. Dad would have loved it.
The next night was a banquet for all of the anesthesia department.

It was a lot of fun to get all dressed up and go celebrate Derek. He doesn't need the recognition, but I sure like being able to recognize all of his work sometimes.

Derek with all of his other anesthesia residents.
We had a HUGE water fight with Grammy and Mark.
I'm pretty sure the adults lost the battle and the kids won.

When Derek works night shifts the kids all end up in my room.
Our orthodontist office held a customer appreciation carnival. Our orthodontist is SO much cooler than anyone else's. Guaranteed! Hot dogs, face painting, balloon animals, games, bubbles, water fights, snow cones. It was SO epic! And it was all FREE. If anyone is looking for an orthodontist we highly recommend McGarrell Orthodontics. :)

The kids got some gak.....

How Connor plays with gak. Didn't do that again.

Sharice had a birthday and turned 22.
The kids spoiled me and made me breakfast in bed.

Cheesecake! Mmmmmm

Derek working his last night shift as a resident with Joel and Trey.

Kael went to scout camp for a week with all these fun boys.

Our friends were moving on base so we watched their kids one day so they could pack up. Baby Ty is SO cute and Eden loved playing Mommy.
The kids all got their teeth cleaned and Connor had his first official check up. He did so well.
He was happy and content and felt really cool.
Eden LOVES food with a passion. So she was very excited when we got a lot of bacon seasoning from Australia for our food. It is AMAZING! So so yummy.
