My older brother Joshua got married March 30, 2013. So, the kids and I took a trip down south to visit family and go to a wedding. Let's just say I was not so great at taking pictures even though I had my camera. I had 3 kids by myself. It was exhausting, but totally worth it.
I started the trip by getting vertigo the morning we were suppose to leave and was flat on my back for 5 hours. Not cool. My amazing relief society president came and watched my kids for me the entire time and finally it just went away. So, I threw everything in the car and we headed south. First stop was Hurricane, UT for Grandma and Grandpa's. We spent the night and then left the next day for Phoenix. We stayed with my sister Shannon. We had lots of fun festivities. We went swimming, had a scooby doo adventure birthday party for my niece, went to the wedding dinner at my Aunt's, saw my brother get married in the temple, played at my new sister-in-laws parent's house, enjoyed a beautiful reception, slept in a bit, celebrated easter dinner as a family, visited grandparents, and cleaned an incredibly dirty bathroom. Then, we left to come home. I stayed another night at my parents and drove home to my sweet hubby who missed us like crazy for 8 days! I couldn't have survived 3 kids by myself without all the help! It sure was a fun and eventful journey.
This was setting up for the reception. It turned out so beautiful and was amazing!
Eden had to get in on the wedding nails!
Eden dressed up for the reception playing with cousins. They had bubbles and all kinds of fun stuff to keep the kiddos occupied including popcorn and juice boxes.
Kael loved playing with his cousins!
The scooby doo party was fantastic complete with a clues to solve a mystery!
Eden swam with just floaties on her arms for the first time and did amazing. My kids LOVE swimming. I obviously don't take them enough.
Elara got a lot of attention the whole trip. Everyone was happy to hold her at any given time.
Here's one with Grandpa holding her.
I told Shannon to teach Kael how to swim and guess what, he did amazing. He was floating and putting his face in the water. Of course he won't do this stuff for me. I think it might be time for swim lessons this summer.
Here's a picture from the wedding dinner at my Aunt Deb and Uncle Roy's home. It turned out so beautiful!
Isaac taught Kael how to swing! Kael had been trying hard for about 2 weeks to learn and my teaching wasn't helping then Isaac teaches him and he gets it. I guess 7 year olds know how to explain this stuff better. Kael was so excited! His face was bright red from lack of sleep, the heat (it was in the 80's and 90's and we came from snow...), and sun block...
While us girls tried to scrub the bathrooms in the home Josh and Emily bought and are fixing up we had the boys watch the kids. They made a tent for the kids to watch a movie. It was quite impressive and the kids had a blast.
The trip was super fun and I wish I had taken more/better pictures to remember it. I had to steal some from other's blogs! The kids had a blast and were totally exhausted for a week after we came home which must mean they loved the trip or they got super spoiled. Either way we love seeing family and having a good time!
