Kael waiting for the school bus

I guess Kael won't have to worry about waiting for a school bus in freezing cold weather next year. He loves being all bundled up and playing with his friends on the ice mounds. And the winter is just so pretty.
I'm really loving taking the boy out to the bus every morning. He ALWAYS gives me the biggest hug and kiss on my cheek to say good bye. He then proceeds to get on the bus and then wave for the next 5 minutes until the bus pulls away in which time I am not allowed to leave until he leaves. I wave literally for however long the bus is there. I LOVE HIM! He makes me feel so special. He is the sweetest boy EVER!

January Swim Lessons

Kael and Eden took swim lessons for the whole month of Janaury. It was probably one of the most genius ideas I've had yet. It was a great way to pass the cold month and the kids had a blast! I started them in the red class and they both did so well the passed and moved on to yellow for the next two weeks! They can both stream line under water for about 5 feet. They can float on their backs and flip over. After the yellow class Kael can swim about 5 feet. He can flip over either way. He can swim on his back for 5 feet. They can both jump in and kick up. Eden can stream line and float, but has a hard time actually moving. They both did amazing! Kael passed yellow and the next time he does lessons he will be in blue. Eden needs to just practice a little more, so she is still in yellow. I'm so proud of both of them! They learned so much and had a great time doing it. It makes this Mama a whole lot more comfortable moving to Texas with little swimmers instead of little sinkers! :)

Week 3 and 4 are below

Our Favorite Restaurant: El Farol aka Beans and Chips to the kids

We are really going to miss taco Tuesday here in Salt Lake. We have to document our favorite restaurant here in Salt Lake.
This picture was just too good not to post.
 Elara LOVES to feed herself.

Hill Air Force Base Museum

Another check for the Salt Lake City bucket list. If you are ever up by Hill Air Force Base I highly recommend visiting this museum!

January 2014 An Odin Update

What better way to start a new year than to show the newest addition to the family growing up before our eyes?!
Odin loving being out and about after being stuck in the kitchen while getting house broken.
Don't let the naked baby with the empty milk jug and the super full diaper distract you from the cute puppy in his kennel. She climbs in there with him all the time. Or she kicks him out and locks herself in.
Odin actually loves the snow. It has been tough having to potty train a puppy in the snowy winter, not going to lie, but it is a good thing he LOVES to truffle in the snow.

We sure are loving Odin even though he drives us crazy just most of the time. He was doing really well potty training and has had a small set back the past couple of days. I'm not sure why or what is going on, but hopefully we figure it out soon for my sanity. Otherwise we LOVE him to pieces.

Hurricane Trip: Sunday and Monday and everything in between

CHURCH
It was at 1 o:clock and by the time sacrament was done, so was Kael.
Eden dancing outside.

Uncle Jake and I texted while in church. We weren't really paying attention. I kind of feel bad now. hmmm Not really. It was fun hanging out with Jake.
Everyone else was jealous of us. They eventually texted us what we were doing and wanted in...

Grandpa opening the present the Bradley's brought. We love their backyard and wanted to add to it. A clock/thermometer.
All the grandkids opening their presents. Grandma made EVERYONE a beanbag that you warm in the microwave! Keeps our toes warm at night. She embroidered each of the kids names on their bag. They are so cute and the kids use it EVERY night.

COUSINS!!! AND Grandpa got all the kids head lights.
The best part of being with family is definitely "THE COUSINS"!

Aunt Janice and Uncle Jon got Grandma and Grandpa a ruler to measure all the Grandkids for Christmas. Kael was the first to get measured and therefore got his picture taken. Elara was the shortest so we had to get her too. :)
Cousin/Grandpa baseball time. This is a favorite for Kael.

COUSINS! They played on the wii pretty much at any moment we would let them. And with unlimited games, why not?!
Eden and Kaylee. These two played so well together! It made me wish for about a week that we lived in Phoenix next to where most of the cousins live. Texas will be good. It will be a longer drive to Phoenix from San Antonio than it is from Salt Lake, but I think we will just have to make that trip!

Saying goodbye is always sooo hard. I'm pretty for certain I cry every time. I usually run out the door saying I love you Mom, I'm just gonna run out so you can't see me balling. Saying goodbye is even harder when you know you are moving far away soon. I keep telling myself to be grateful we won't be living in Florida or somewhere we really couldn't ever visit! AND we are going to try really hard to stop in Phoenix on our way to San Antonio. So, that helped a lot.

We love visiting our family and sure had a great time. Grandma and Grandpa and lots of cousin time is always a blast! We are so grateful for our family. We always feel so loved when we get to be with them.
