The end of May And Random Events in May

May 27th
The kids LOVE having a baby brother. They want to help however they can. Connor is lucky to have 3 amazing big siblings.

The hospital Connor was at was only about a 5-10 minute drive to the temple, so one day before visiting me and Connor; Derek took the kids for the first time and snagged some really great pictures. I can't wait until I can go with all of them.
Eden, Kael, and Elara
The kids loved seeing baby brother and getting to hold him. It was soooooo hard having them come, because there could only be 3 people total by Connor. That meant lots of people in the waiting room and juggling people and LOTS of hand washing. I was just really grateful that the kiddos could see him and hold him for a while. It was hard because we never got a chance to get our first family photos with all of us until well after Connor came home.

Odin seemed to handle things really well.
Derek finally got time off after Connor came home and utilized it well and took each kid out on their own individual date.
Eden and Dad had a Daddy daughter date and went and saw the movie HOME and had Red Robin.
I think the milk shake was her favorite.
I think Derek took Kael to a nickelcade for their Best Buds Outing. I can't remember, but they got Red Robin too and it really is a special treat for the kiddos. They LOVE hanging out with Dad all by them self.
Elara got to go shopping and pick out a toy and then head to McDonald's with Dad for her date. It was her first "official" Daddy Daughter Date and it was a HUGE success. I think this kid is now officially a part of the big kids from this experience.

At the end of the month while Connor was still in the hospital there was a big bicycle safety event at the kids school. They got to decorate their bikes and do a fun course. It was a lot of fun for the kiddos.

May was a busy month for poor Elara.
Odin has started to "Pug Hug" Derek. I obviously don't give him enough attention, so when Derek gets home Odin feels the need to snuggle up and give him a big hug. It's hilarious!
Eden loves holding Connor at home. The kids keep taking turns who gets to hold him next. All have been really good about asking before touching the baby, and Eden got a little hand sanitizer crazy trying to keep him safe.
I finally brought a couple cute outfits to the hospital for Connor and a blanket. The other babies there had cute blankets and clothes and all kinds of stuff, but poor Connor just had hospital stuff. Honestly, it was easier not having to take stuff home to wash later, and I felt a little guilty so I think 3 or 4 days of the 24 he was there he was dressed up. I had to take a picture of him dressed up once.

He is happy to be HOME!
Nothing better than snuggling in Mom and Dad's bed.

May was probably THE craziest month of Derek's and my life. We survived and are stronger for it. We grew as a couple, as a family, as friends, and just are better people because of Connor and all the loving people who helped us get him home.

May 24th COMING HOME!

In the morning Connor had to pass an hour long car seat test. He did amazing! I was so worried his oxygen would drop and they wouldn't let us go, but he slept the whole time and did amazing!!! You can really see how tiny he was. He came home weighing 5 lb 12 oz.

Connor's coming home outfit.
Reunited! They were all sooo happy!!! Me too!!!!
I was a little terrified to finally be home with 4 kids.

He is so perfect in every way! We all are so in love with Connor! He is such a perfect addition to our family! It was so nice to all be under one roof!
Welcome Home Connor Everett Bradley!

May 16 -21

May 16th
He pulled everything out and I got to hold him tube free!
Shortly after Connor's oxgen kept dropping so to help his feeds we put him back on oxygen. Then, he was finally able to get the feeding tube out and just had the oxygen.
May 20th

May 21st he got off the oxygen finally! Now he has no feeding tube and no oxygen! Just working on feedings now for a couple days and then he was good to come home!
That pacifier was huge compared to his face.

Eden's Teeth

Poor Eden was cursed with teeth that just want to have cavities. Her molars touch and developed cavities between both sides on the bottom between the touching teeth. After many dentist appointments to try and fill the cavities without anesthesia, Eden basically had a cavity drilled out without any numbing medicine that is how tough she was. She gave a good effort, but it was too much. We had the procedure scheduled for when I should have been 37 weeks thinking it would give us time before Connor got here, but it fell at pretty bad timing.

Derek went to work, my Mom was home with Elara and I took a break from the hospital and Connor to be with Eden. Overall the procedure went well, but the night before Eden got sick with a fever. We couldn't cancel it as this had been going on for months and the cavities were finally hurting her teeth, so we gave her tylenol and went. She did great! She was a little crazy waking up from the anesthesia and just felt miserable. The poor girl spit up the medicine. On the drive home she was too tired to touch her milk shake and by the time we got home she started throwing up and couldn't stop. It went on for about 24 hours and she hadn't eaten anything for about 18 hours before the procedure since they started so late. She got really dehydrated and we needed some zofran and didn't have any left in the house. So, we took her to the pediatrician who got very nervous at how dehydrated she was and they admitted her to the hospital.

Eden's poor teeth hurt her so bad, she had a fever, couldn't stop throwing up... She was miserable. Once we got to the doctors office and Eden threw up water everywhere they immediately got us some zofran and she started feeling better once she stopped throwing up.

She was diagnosed with dehydration, urine infection, and something else... I can't remember. Thankfully Derek was able to get work off to stay the night with her and the next day while I got some rest at home so I could get back to Connor. So glad we had my Mom here helping out. It was rough! I had only been home from the hospital about a week and a half, so I was still very sore and tired, Connor was in the hospital, and then to have Eden was just the kicker!

Somehow we survived and we can say we are a pretty tough little family.
I'm so proud of Eden, and how strong she is. I'm certain this isn't the last of nasty teeth, but she is a determined little girl to be tough and still smile. We love you Eden!

 A day later...

Mother's Day

I spent Mother's Day at the hospital with Connor, but came home to this lovely surprise of pictures on the wall. The kids and Derek spoiled me as usual, and I felt super blessed to be the Mom of 4 amazing kiddos. Also, so grateful for Derek who spoils us daily and makes me feel like the most important Mom in the world and loves me for it. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to stay home and play Mom all day every day.
Grandma finally was here and it was perfect. It has been a while since I got to celebrate Mother's Day with my Mom. We celebrated the day before when she arrived and went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Then, on Sunday she got to come to the hospital and hold Connor for the first time. I think that was a pretty good Mother's Day present getting hold grandbaby #20. We were so grateful for the help. It was sad letting Ashley go, but Mom was a good replacement. The kids were so happy and excited to see grandma and we were just grateful for the help!

Love you Grandma!!!

Week1 and part of 2 for Connor May 1- May 9th

May 1
 May 2
By day 3 his bilirubin increased and he was put under the lights. It was inevitable. We knew it would probably happen. His hand IV also got puffy and they switched it to a head IV. Much better if you ask me.

May 5th
Connor Everett Bradley
(1 week old)

The silly boy pulled out his OT tube and so they made it an NG tube. So much nicer having it in his nose than his mouth.

 May 9

Great way to end week 2. He was so happy to have the oxygen off even if it was brief!
