We planted carrots, zucchini, green beans, and lettuce in our garden. We tried broccoli and failed. We have already trimmed some lettuce and picked one huge zucchini and some beans. The carrots are still growing. We also recently planted some watermelon. For not knowing if anything would grow it sure was a fun experiment and learning experience. Next year will be better. In May we put in two blackberry bushes, but the birds have since eaten all the blackberries. The kids have been great helpers with the garden and have really grown to love it. This will be a yearly activity from here on out.
